What each one is for
Lite
A phone to leave running: idle games, a second messaging account, something that checks in on a schedule. It is the one to pick when you want several phones rather than one fast one. It will not enjoy a heavy 3D game, and root is not offered on it.
Cloud
The everyday one, and the one most people end up on. A browser, a couple of apps and a game that is not trying to be a console, all at once, with room for the downloads that come with them.
Pro
Twice the muscle of Cloud, for heavier apps, a lot of them together, or a build you are testing that is not gentle. Day to day the storage is the real difference: 64 GB takes a serious library without tidying up.
Gaming
The biggest we rent, for games that install 20 GB before they let you play and for stacks of demanding apps at once. If you are unsure whether you need it, you probably do not, and you can move up later.
Moving up later
A package is fixed for the life of the phone; there is no in-place upgrade. Moving up means renting a bigger phone, copying across what you need with the file browser, and then either deleting the old one or simply not renewing it. Moving up costs you nothing but the difference in price.
Not sure? Start small. Take Cloud for a day. A day is long enough to find out whether a cloud phone does what you need, and a longer term afterwards keeps everything you set up.
How the storage figure behaves
The storage on a package is the space available to the phone as a whole: Android itself, the apps you install and the files you put there. The phone's screen in the app shows how much is in use, and a notice arrives when a phone passes 90% full. Storage is nearly full covers what to do then.
