What this covers
This policy applies to everything you do with a Skyro Cloud phone, and to anyone you let use one on your account. It is part of the terms of service: accepting those means accepting this.
It applies whether you are using the phone yourself, running something on it unattended, or have shared it with somebody else. If you share a phone, what they do on it is your responsibility under this policy.
What a cloud phone is for
Anything you would reasonably do with a phone you own. Running apps and games, including ones that punish you for going offline. Keeping a separate phone for a separate account, client, or project. Testing your own software on a real Android device. Using apps that are only available on a phone from a desk.
You do not need to tell us what you are using it for, and we do not look. The privacy policy explains what we can and cannot see.
What is not allowed
The short version: nothing illegal, nothing that defrauds anyone, and nothing that harms other people or other systems. Specifically:
Illegal content and activity
- Anything unlawful where you are, where we are, or where the person on the other end is.
- Any material that sexually exploits or endangers children. There is no threshold and no warning. We report it to the authorities and we terminate the account.
- Infringing somebody else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights at scale.
Fraud and deception
- Advertising, click, install, or engagement fraud of any kind.
- Creating accounts on other services in bulk, or automating them, in a way those services forbid.
- Evading a ban, suspension, or limit that another service has placed on you.
- Impersonating a person, a company, or a device you are not.
- Phishing, scams, and anything designed to take money or credentials from people who did not agree to give them.
Harm to other people and systems
- Harassment, threats, or stalking.
- Sending spam by any channel: email, messaging, calls, comments.
- Distributing malware, or hosting anything whose purpose is to compromise other people’s devices.
- Attacking, probing, or overloading any network or service, including ours.
- Mining cryptocurrency. A cloud phone is not a compute rental and this is the fastest way to have one shut down.
Abusing the service itself
- Working around limits we set on a phone, such as its network rate or its storage.
- Reselling access to phones on your account without an agreement with us.
- Using a phone to attack, scan, or interfere with other customers’ phones or our infrastructure.
Other people’s rules
Your cloud phone ships with Google Play. Google’s terms apply to your use of it, and each app you install comes with its developer’s terms. We do not sit between you and those agreements: if an app forbids running on a virtual or cloud device, that is between you and the developer, and we cannot make it otherwise.
If another service tells us that a phone on your account is breaking their rules in a way that also breaks ours, we act on it under this policy.
Sharing and limits
You can share a phone with somebody else through the app. When you do, you are still the account holder: this policy applies to what they do, and anything we do in response happens to your account.
Each phone has a network rate limit and a storage allowance. They are part of what you bought. Getting around them is a breach of this policy, not a clever trick.
How we enforce this
We do not watch your screen and we do not read what you type. The privacy policy is specific about that and it is not suspended by this page.
What we do see is the shape of a phone’s traffic, reports from other people and other services, and legal demands. When one of those points at a breach, we may:
- Warn you and ask you to stop.
- Suspend the phone, or the account, while we look.
- Destroy the phone and close the account. Time already paid for is not refunded when this happens; the refund policy says so in its own words.
- Report to the authorities where the law requires it, or where somebody is in danger.
We pick the response that fits the breach. A single ambiguous report gets a question; a phone that is plainly running a fraud operation does not. If we suspend you and we were wrong, tell us, and we will put it right.
Reporting abuse
If a Skyro Cloud phone is being used against you or somebody else, write to FILL IN: abuse@ address. Tell us what happened, when, and anything that identifies the phone or the traffic: an IP address and a timestamp is enough for us to find it.
We read every report. We will not tell you who the customer is, for the same reason we would not tell them who you are, but we will tell you what we did.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that could affect something you are already doing, we will tell you before it takes effect. Small clarifications we just make. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
