The app tells you about things that happen to your phones and your account: in the app's notification list, as push notifications, and by email. Under Account, Notifications decides which of those you want to hear.
Push and email, by category
There is a master switch each for push and for email, and under them a switch per category:
| Category | Covers |
|---|---|
| Devices | A phone coming online, failing to set up, expiring or expired, and its storage being erased; scheduled maintenance |
| Billing | Receipts, refunds, renewals, top-ups, and payments that failed or need confirming |
| Storage | A phone passing 90% full |
| Sharing | Everything about shares and transfers, sent and received |
| Security | Root turned on or off, and future sign-in alerts |
| Support | A reply on one of your tickets, or a ticket marked solved |
The in-app list is never affected: the settings mute the buzz, not the record.
Quiet hours
Set a window in your local time, which can cross midnight, during which push notifications are held. Still push urgent ones lets a few through anyway: a failed payment, a payment that needs your confirmation, a phone that has expired or failed to set up, and a phone being transferred to or from you. Email is never gated by quiet hours.
What is always sent
- By email regardless of your settings: a failed payment, a payment that needs confirming, and a reply from support, because an answer nobody sees is a failed ticket. Codes for sign-in, verification and password reset are not notifications and are always sent.
- Never muted at all: a security notice that your password or two-factor setting changed, and an emergency maintenance notice. Whoever changes a security setting is not necessarily the account's owner, so that alarm cannot be switched off.
What is never emailed
Root changes, the storage warning and a background task failing on a phone are in-app and push only. Nobody wants those in a mailbox.
