Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen and enter your email address. If an account exists for it, we email a 6-digit reset code; the screen says the same thing either way, so nobody can use it to find out which addresses have accounts.
-
Get the code from your inbox
It is good for fifteen minutes. Check the spam folder if it seems slow.
-
Enter it with a new password
Between 8 and 200 characters. Then sign in with the new one.
Resetting signs you out everywhere. Every device that was signed in to the account is signed out, and a security notice goes to your email. If you reset because you suspected someone else was in the account, that is the point; if not, it is a moment's inconvenience.
If the email never comes
- The address may not be the one on the account. Try any others you use.
- The account may have no password at all, because it was made with Google or a passkey. Sign in that way instead; you can set a password afterwards from Account.
- If you cannot get in by any route, write to support from the address on the account. We will check that the request really comes from the account holder before doing anything.
Still stuck? Write to us and we will answer.
